Your Story, Wherever It Happens
Some stories can’t be told from a studio. They unfold on dusty roads in foreign cities, on mountain trails before sunrise, or in the hushed reverence of a centuries-old cathedral. Whether it’s documenting a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, embedding on a mission trip to the most remote corners of the globe, or capturing moments so surreal and profound they feel almost untouchable—my work brings these experiences to life in a way that honors their weight and beauty.
Why Experience Matters
Too often, companies or freelancers underestimate what it takes to film and photograph in extreme or demanding environments. They show up unprepared for the pace, the terrain, the weather, or the human depth of the journey itself. A lack of experience means moments are missed. A lack of stamina means the camera goes down when the going gets tough. And a lack of understanding of the physical and spiritual demands of such experiences means the story is never told the way it deserves to be.
Why I’m Different
With over a decade of award-winning work behind the lens and a lifetime of hiking, backpacking, and survival experience, I’m prepared for whatever the journey brings. I’ve filmed in temperatures from -20° in the Arctic Circle to 120° in the desert, and I don’t shy away from heights, harsh conditions, or long days on my feet. I understand the physical and emotional rigors of pilgrimages and mission trips because I’ve lived them alongside those I document. I stay present, I stay moving, and I don’t stop until the story is told fully, faithfully, and beautifully.

The Lens Knows No Limits

Branden J. Stanley is a critically acclaimed, award-winning cinematographer and photographer with over a decade and a half of experience capturing stories that span the globe. When he’s not behind the camera, he’s an avid hiker, backpacker, and survivalist, tackling environments as extreme as -20° expeditions in the Arctic Circle and 120° treks through blistering deserts. His work—and his life—thrives on adventure, and no challenge is too remote or too rugged. Whether it’s dangling from dizzying heights or navigating unforgiving terrain, Branden brings the same fearless dedication to his craft that he does to the wild places he explores.
Need an expert? I’m your guy.
You can’t just toss anyone into sandy deserts, torrential downpours, and icy wilderness and expect them to keep up. Usually, you either find a survivalist who’s “pretty good” with a camera, or a camera operator who’s used to filming within walking distance of an air-conditioned lobby and a bottle of sparkling water. Out in the field, I’ve heard it all—“Wait… you’re bringing that camera into the rain?” “Isn’t all that dust going to ruin it?” “Are you sure you can hike with that thing?”
My answer is always the same: this is exactly what the gear is built for, and exactly what I’m trained for. I choose specialized equipment that can survive the beating, and I keep my skills—and my body—in shape so I can push through it every single time. After all, the story doesn’t pause for the weather, the terrain, or the weight of the backpack. Neither do I.
